Terms and Conditions of Employment
Salary of £37,264.00
Contracts are offered on an initial 6 month probationary period.
Annual Leave Allowance: 27 days per year (pro rata for part-time and contracted staff).

Job Description

The College offers two qualifications: Membership (MRCPCH) and the Diploma of Child Health (DCH). The Clinical Assessments team supports candidates to register, apply for and sit their exams - whether in the UK and Norther Ireland, or in a growing number of countries internationally.

You will support the UK Examinations Manager by coordinating the successful preparation and delivery of the UK MRCPCH Clinical exams. The exams occur 3 times a year in the UK in a cyclical manner. The role includes a strong focus on working with internal and external stakeholders as well as some project work. While your role will primarily focus on coordinating the exams with our two UK administrators, you will also support these administrators during busy periods in tasks such as candidate or examiner allocation. The role includes line management responsibility for the two UK Examination Administrators.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate the operational delivery of all aspects of MRCPCH clinical examination activity, engaging clinicians to deliver examinations to the required standard, schedule and budget.
2. Support the recruitment, training and performance review of UK based MRCPCH examiners.
3. Undertaking routine forward planning to secure hosts for exams and handle all host related exam preparation and delivery.
4. Undertake regular reviews to ensure effective use of resources to meet workload demands.
5. Manage scheduling, payments and problem resolution with relevant service providers.
6. Provide input into monitoring and evaluating each clinical exam delivered to ensure standards are maintained, candidate and examiner feedback is captured, and key concerns are identified and reported on for future development and delivery.
7. Ensure relevant guidance, including website content and clinical stakeholder resources are kept up to date.
8. To maintain effective relationship management with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of clinical examinations to agreed timescales, budgets and quality, including working closely with the role player provider.
9. To work closely with the scenario administrator to ensure scenario provision for exams is supported and that feedback on scenarios from exams is captured.
10. Provide committee administration support and work with the UK Clinical Examinations Manager to ensure committees adhere to RCPCH Governance arrangements. This will include generating schedules for committees.
11. Provide line management and support to the UK Clinical Administrators in administering UK MRCPCH clinical examination preparation and delivery, including liaising with Finance, Facilities and other key internal teams where appropriate.
12. Manage data collection and data integrity across clinical examination related activities. Ensure that legal and regulatory obligations (GDPR) are met when reporting, analysing and sharing data.
13. Occasionally be required to travel both inside and outside of London, with overnight stays needed as appropriate in addition, it may sometimes be necessary to work outside of the core College hours of 9am to 5pm. Some weekend support may be required from time to time.

Essential
• Educated to ‘A’ Level standard or relevant experience in a similar line of work
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written including excellent report writing skills and the ability to present information in a fluent and persuasive manner to people at a range of levels
• Awareness of the principles of effective project management, risk mitigation, risk management and governance
• Ability to deliver multiple objectives within short time frames to high standards and to meet multiple deadlines. Excellent time management skills
• Able to present information, verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner, with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent IT skills, with a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters, and be able to deliver difficult messages with diplomacy and tact
